The lesson for the week  is : "There were Three Crosses at Calvary"

Scripture: Luke 23:32-43

Everyone has identified with one of the three crosses at Calvary.

The first cross is the cross of rejection.  This man died in sin. He did not understand the mission of Christ.  He thought that Christ should keep men from dying physically.

The second cross is the cross of redemption.  One can only identify with this cross by doing the will of Christ - the  Christ who saw the beginning of time and who sees the end of time.

The third cross is the cross of reception.   This man recognized who Jesus was and that he and the man on the first cross had done wrong.   He knew there was something beyond death.

The lesson for the week  is : "The Lord Has Truly Blessed Us"

Scripture: Ephesians 1:3-10

Some people major in being depressed.  They look for something to be upset or worried about.

As Christians, we share in the riches of God's grace.  God has promised to supply all of our needs.

God has chosen us; adopted us, accepted us; redeemed us; sealed us.

We go cold on God; he doesn't go cold on us.

Give your best to God.  Keep the commandments of God.

The lesson for the week  is : "It's Like Fire Shut Up in My Bones"

Scripture: Jeremiah 20:7-9

Fire was used as an emblem of the presence of God.  We need preachers, song leaders, givers, all Christians on fire for the Lord.

Everytime you get disappointed on this Christian way, you must think on how far God has brought you and how He will give you the strength to carry on.  Let God shape and mold you into what He wants you to be.

God can use a man that is tough and tender at the same time.

A real man is like a turtle - hard on the outside; tender on the inside and willing to stick his neck out.

The lesson for the week  is : "Our God is an Awesome God"

Scripture: Psalms 139:1-12

As Christians, we are always finding out new things about God.

We come to were we are based on the goodness of God.

There are several things about God:

1.  He never had a teacher.

2.  He makes no mistakes.

3.  He searches out the good; searches for the hidden treasure in you.

4. There are no secrets with God.

5.  God has His ways to get us where He wants us to be.

6.  God is looking for something that will last; He is working on our insides.

7. He observes our motives and movements.

8.  God knows our thoughts before we speak them.

9.  God is in three places - death, distance and darkness

The lesson for the week  is : "We Need Faith and Works"

Scripture: James 2:19-20

A lesson to understand is the policy of God.  God will do what He does and we are to do what we can do.

God wants to bless us but we need to move the stones out of the way.  God will show up and show out when we do our part.

God wants us to move even when we don't see.  This is the basis of faith.  Faith and works are brothers and prayer is their cousin.  We must remember that God is always with us.  Even when going through things, we must still praise God.

The lesson for the week  is : "What Does God Expect of Our Young Folks?"

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 12:1

A lot is expected of young people because they are smart, energetic and quick to learn.

The church today is made up of a lot of young people.   We need to teach, train and love them so they will know what God expects of them.

God expects for the youth to remember Him now:

**because of our sin - Romans 3:23

**we need guidance - Jeremiah 10:23

**He will be with us until the end -Matthew

        28:20

**need to include God in whatever plans are

        made - Proverbs 3:5-6

**must have time for God - Ephesians 5:16

**parents must have wisdom that is asked

        of God - James 1:5

The lesson for the week  is : "Understanding the Testing of Our Faith"

Scripture: James 1:1-3

We as a people should be very familiar with testing.  From kindergarten to college we are tested; before entering the military, becoming a physician, joining the police or fire department, we will be tested.

We should not be surprised then when James stated that our faith will be tested.   There will be more than one test in this life.

We may not have control over death, the conversations of others, or illness.  But we do have control  over greed, selfishness, jealousy, and sexual lust.

Who or what is behind the testing of our faith?

---Satan tempts us to bring out the worst

---God tests us to strengthen us; to bring out the best

The testing of faith will prove if your faith is true or false.

If you are going through a test, God knows about it.

The lesson for the week  is : "I Love You, I Really Do"

Scripture: I John 4:7-12

John is called the apostle of love because he always spoke of loving each other.

When we become children of God, we must walk as Christ walked.

Love is an action.  When we love one another we are showing that we are of God.   But it is not always easy to love people who hate you.

You must use wisdom in dealing with love; sometimes you have to give tough love.  You must know the Bible to practice real love.
